Bastrop, Tx Report #3 OMG somebody PLEASE help me identify this possible 1775 medal

OK, I had to stop my detecting this early afternoon, so I wouldn't have a heart attack after finding this. Somebody please help me identify this medal. It shouts OLD in it's design, especially the bail at the top which is cast into the medal, but I don't want to get too excited. The medal is in incredible shape if it is that old. Appears to have been gold plated. Someone either ID this as a real medal, or is it a reproduction or what? OMG OMG OMG.....what a thrill regardless. This beats that 1707/06 penny I found in Virginia if it is legit. IN case it is not clear, the banner at the top says "This We'll Defend"

It was awarded for military personnel after 1981 for non combat service. 1775 is in reference to when the Army was officially established in this country.

I had to do a little research, but I knew it wasn't from 1775 because our flag wasn't even adopted till 1777...and had 13 stars in a circle rather than how it is today. Glad to help.

It is this Medal "Each military service issues its own version of the Achievement Medal, with a fifth version authorized by the Department of Defense for joint military activity. The Achievement Medal is awarded for outstanding achievement or meritorious service not of a nature that would otherwise warrant awarding the Commendation Medal. Since the Achievement Medal is designated as an award solely for junior personnel, it is generally only awarded to officers in the pay grade of O-4 and below and enlisted personnel below the grade of E-7. Award authority rests with local commanders, granting a broad discretion of when and for what action the Achievement Medal may be awarded."
