I think my battery pack for my v3 is bad problem started yesterday was out for 4 hours and battery dead v3 just shut down started it back up it said 4.88 v thought it was funny I had just charged them that morning so was time to head home anyways went put the pack on charge for a hunt today went out today only lasted 1 hour errr same as before shut down 4.88v I put in the regular batteries and hunted another 4 hours they were still at 9.88 v what do you guys think it's only 2 months old!!!

Don't you have the secondary battery pack? You should always have backup battery's with you. If your V3 is fairly new then your dealer should give you a little help, or perhaps swap your re-chargeable pack out. Your warranty is good for two years and Whites will surely stand behind their product. Why don't you try your standard battery pack and see if the discharge time is similar to the re-chargeable pack. The detector could be at fault and not the battery's.

Just one bad cell out of the eight will give you problems, rest assured your dealer or White's will quickly take care of it.

Alkaline cells in your back up pack will last longer than NIMHs. I know the charts say otherwise, but a good brand of alkaline batteries like the "coppertop" ones (no brand names here, lol) will outlast the charge on the rechargeables. Fortunately, if you have a full charge on your NIMH, it should last four - six hours, which is enough for most guys for a days hunt. The only thing I don't like about the V3 battery system is that it doesn't give you the low battery warning soon enough. This is because of the way the NIMHs seem to hold a high voltage up until they're almost discharged, then suddenly the voltage drops. With my XLT using either NICADs or alkalines I could hunt another 30-45 minutes after the low battery warning started coming on. With the V3 and the NIMHs, one minute all is well, the next the detector shuts down and the battery is almost dead - not even time to make it back to the car. You are forced to carry the back up on your person if you're gonna be any distance from the car. Back to your problem, though, the rechargeable should last longer than what you are indicating. Whites will no doubt resolve your problem.

I make sure the backlight is kept at the minimum I need. TX Boost will also drain them very quickly.
Called whites repair center talked to bob I have to send out the charger and the battery but I also need the i upgrade so should I send it in now to get both with so little time left to hunt in my area he said it would take about a week errr what to do I think a week is great turn around time as compaired to other brands . BUT A WHOLE WEEK WITHOUT MY BABY I'M GETTING THE DT"S ALREADY !
