made 3 more trips back to the bean field....finds are getting thin... managed a few flat buttons, a reign guide. a sight glass thingy I guess these were on old timey engines or something.. and the 1st target I dug this morning a 1786 new jersey copper... front side is nice back side not so much but I like it .... ground has gotten pretty stiff from recent cold snap...happy huntin...booty...[attachment 279296 IMG_1175800x600.jpg][attachment 279297 IMG_1170800x600.jpg][attachment 279298 IMG_1172800x600.jpg][attachment 279299 IMG_1176800x600.jpg][attachment 279300 IMG_1177600x800.jpg]

WOW! that is an amazing 1700's copper! You may feel finds are thinning out but with a sign like this, it would tell me to go back and "press" even harder.

Excellent !

Booty, very nice1786 NJ copper. Are you in NJ or Pa.?

Super Jersey copper Booty !! A real piece of history there.

Booty, Your NJ copper has really great detail. I dug one today in the cornfield, but only the shield on the back side is visible. No other detail visible. Bummer what the fertilizer does to copper coins.

yeah jabbo to often that's the way it goes...the head side of mine is decent but the tail side is weak... kinda think the one I dug up was in the area of an old barn and may have only been in the actively plowed ground for the last 35 years or so and that's probably why the detail is decent... congrats on your jersey copper....
