It is nice to have a Christian forum on here to talk to other Christians. The last time I logged onto Finds, I was not where I needed to be, Spiritually. At almost 48 years of hard-living, I am now glad to say that I have a genuine testimonial to Christ. Most preachers will tell you that if you confess your sins and pray the Prayer for Salvation, you will be saved like, immediately. I had to "work" at it for nearly 2 months, praying every day, reading the Bible(which I continue to do). I had been a drinker since age 12 or 13, drinking almost daily. Quitting drinking "cold turkey" was one of the easiest things I've ever done. That was step number 1. Asking and praying for Salvation wasn't working. It took a while, but I discovered that having an un-forgiving spirit for 20 years over something was keeping my Salvation at bay. Truth is, if we are unable to forgive others for their doings, we will not be "easily" saved. Once I let go of the unforgiveness and bitterness, and cleansed my heart of bad feelings, God came into my life. It is true about being 'like an infant" when you are born-again. You hunger for the word of God, and you actually forget your old thought patterns, and it's like you almost don't know what to say, or think, or how to act. It's amazing.......I'm re-learning the "new" me, and it is a good thing. My point is, to anyone here who has not been saved, but wants to be......If your heart is not TOTALLY free of bitterness, anger, or resentment toward somebody or something, you must TOTALLY forgive them in order to be forgiven. In my case, it took 2 months of soul-searching, praying, and cost me over 20 pounds of body weight(a good thing) during the process. IT WAS WORTH IT!! Don't give up, and don't expect the process to happen immediately. Work at it daily, and it will happen. You will know when it does. Hope this helps at least one person.

Praise the Lord for what He isdoing in your life!
I was blessed by reading your testimony.
Hope you stop back and enjoy the forum.

God bless.

Mike

Welcome , It was a blessing just reading your testimony. I look forward to others.

Welcome, my brother. We were all where you were at one time. It took me many years to see my need for God, even I knew He was knocking on my door. When I finally answered, I was healed and saved. I thank God for His Grace and patience with me. Welcome back to the forum. No trash, no nonsense, just the love of brothers and sisters in Christ.

about cleansing not being an overnight thing. Glad to see ya back here, steve in so az
Thank you, Steve! I just hope that others may realize that Salvation may take some time for some people. I'm especially glad that Finds offers such a great forum as this one.

Welcome to the forum bother! Your testimony posting is great and I, too, had to repent of many sins, especially anger and bitterness over an ex-husband and a very strict father, who showed very little love! I have been totally forgiven and I love the Lord sooooo MUCH that I can't believe it took me so long to live my life for Him and have His many blessings! Although I look back in the past and see where He protected me even when I didn't live for Him like I do now! God is goood and Oh, how he blesses His obedient children!

I have a poem about sins coming off like onion skins. Each peals off and sometimes hurts like a knife cutting an onion until the white clean onion itself appears! That is the way we look to the Lord when He has cleaned us up and made us white as snow in His precious, shed blood by forgiving us and we stop sinning willfully, as we realize what we do that displeases Him! We help catch the fish (lost souls) and He cleans them! I've cleaned many a fish, and some are easier to clean than others! :)

May the Lord protect and bless you always! God Bless! Sister Ma Betty

Amen to that! Speaking of those onions, we got some out of the garden tonight and peeled them. Great analogy, Betty!

I live in Va., and we just call these "spring onions", but they are kinda mild, and taste similar to those good old Vidalias(but not as sweet). we're gonna be getting fresh squash in a day or two, but need a little rain.....Thanks!

I like squash also which I fry, bake or cook with other foods! Ya'll are in the good ole South, HUH? I was just telling my brother a couple of days ago that while I was in school, I remember having to sing, Carry Me Back to Ole Virginia, where the corn, and the cotton and the potatoes grow and etc. I got to where I hated that song and still do because we sung it so often! :) God Bless! Betty

Yep, I'm in southern Va on a 90 acre farm where I was raised. I'm gonna be singing "carry me to the shores of NC" in about a week......going to the beach to dig a little and eat seafood near Topsail NC. It's been years since I went to the beach.......Take care!.....Rick
