With some success i might add. Stabbin' Lotsa clad! 5 bucks yesterday and another 5 today for a few hours work. I can see why the little coil would come in handy here, you cannot complete a swing without hitting a penny, four bottle tops and six pulltabs! I mainly stabbed quarters dimes and nickles, disc at 15, sens at 50...not the amount of nickles Zeek is getting, so maybe I'll try that 3H in here tomorrow. This wind ought to really open up some cuts and reveal some gold later this week I hope! Gold Luck everyone!

That is some good F70ing Mud. I use 3H because nickels come in at high tone. Zinc comes in at mid tone. I will pin point a target that is jumping from 29-33. If it is 0 on in depth on the meter I investigate. Often it is a nickel. If I pin point, it shows depth 2-4", meter reading higher than 33 I don't dig, it is usually tab.
I run: Sen@60, Disc@20, Thres@-3, Tones@3H. It easily hits coins at 4".
If you really want to imitate someone let it be John from Edmonton. He finds more pennies than I find total coins.
I am just stumbling along here digging what I want and going home when I think I have had enough for today. Life is good for me and kids. Enjoy... Thanks for reading...Happy Trails to you and yours Mud.......Z

You finally did it..........created a new slang word......."Zeekin"...............I am going to use it on my hunting buddies, and in the future to describe clad hunting..............I like it!!!!

It really is one of the most enjoyable styles of detecting, low impact, and a very productive way to rack up some coins. It gives the immediate gratification kick constantly through a hunt, sharpens skills on multiples, unmasking, audio recognition...It can be frustrating to some, but if you know your equipment, Zeekin is about as good as it gets! Over 3000 coins and counting is no small feat either. Mud

You guys have stumbled into a zone you may not want to enter? It starts off when you get up in the morning feeling good and excited about the day. You will not be liked by many people. They don't like happy people.
You will start noticing the magic in your life. You will start to understand you are living a Magical life filled with miracles. Your day will be filled with wonder, adventure around every event, fearlessness at looking at newness, unlimitedness to your approach to discovery. You will see, hear, and feel things others don't. If this is what you want? Than So Be It... But you have been warned.. Happy Trails...Z
P.S. I forgot to mention the weekly visits to the psychiatrist... These visits will keep you out of the booby hatch.... :rage:

Mud that sounds great to me, it hasn't rained her in two months and with rain our dirt is heavy with clay and rock. I would gladly dig 10 pull tabs to every penny if I could dig in this dry @#&% Tennessee concrete.

We have a soft sandy loam for the most part, but I have been in some fill full of iron, and I did swing over in Zeeks state this summer which was some sort of clay/chert mix...The cool thing about Zeekin is you DONT dig every signal, just the solid coins, and even then, you dont have to dig the pennys if you dont feel like it! The idea is to get at least 60 coins a day with minimum scrap. Oh sure, sometimes those half pulltabs give a nickle reading, but really its a relaxing study in how accurate can a guy get with setting up the detector to the situation and avoiding all junk! I was thinking about this the other day, a fellow could not do this unless he has already put in his time diggin scrap. Maybe just a few exploratory stabs at a target that has a unique sound, or just on a hunch. Zeekin finds plenty of old silver this way too, and that cool ring he got the other day. All solid 70's are a must! And shallow zincs are easy pickins, i'm pretty sure there is some gold in this park I'm hunting, will I find it with this method? Maybe, If I went there looking for it, it would be a pretty frustrating excersize digging foil and tabs..HH
