BEING IGNORED BY MINELAB

Bought my XT50 in Jan this year. At the time of purchase they had a deal on. Buy now and receive a DAKOTA WATCH (free). Well sir, I did, in place of the watch all I got was a post card saying they were out of stock. Said they will have them in 60 days. Well the 60 days has come and gone. I've emailed them, NO RESPONSE. I've phoned and left messages (from Canada)NO RESPONSE. I'm starting to get a little concerend here. You see, when I unpacked this brand new machine " it didn't work" back to the factory it went (cost me $25.00 to ship) now they won't even talk to me. PS. I got the machine back in a couple weeks and it's fine.

if the premium offer was more successful than anticipated, then they may have to wait for Dakota to supply them with more. My guess is that these are made in China or another Far East country. If that is the case then a 8-12 week lead time would not be unusual. So the hold-up lays with Dakota most likely & not Minelab.

I received a watch with my X-Terra 50. I would rather have had the price of the watch taken off the price of the metal detector. By the way, made in Japan.

If Minelab offered a free watch for buying the X-Terra, it is their direct responsibility to provide that watch. It there is a back log in supplying the watches to the customers, I would think that the least that Minelab could do is communicate such with their customers. Lack of communication causes problems and promotes ill will. Kelley (Texas) :)

I agree with Kelley. Ignoring an e-mail would make me mad as hell. They wouldn't ignore an e-mail asking where you could buy 3 or 4 detectors would they?

Thanks for the interest guys. I have phoned long distance three times and left messages which were NEVER responded to, the last one was Monday this week, I got a long winded message,"we are closed for two days taking inventory". Hell I've probably paid more in long distance calls (finding out when the new detector would be repaired and returned) and now three times about this watch, costing me more than the watch is worth in the first place. And to add insult to injury, the damn XT has gone down in price (I paid $650.00 plus the $25.00 shipping)
You could say I'm sort of upset over the whole deal

As a Minelab dealer I will have to agree with you Kelley on the lack of communicating skills at Minelab USA.

Tucker1931,

You should by now have received a response from Minelab US office
as I took the liberty of directing your e-mail there.
Unfortunately, you posted your complaint on a Friday and, we were on a Public Holiday on Monday.
By now, between the two offices, I hope you're sorted.

Looks like Whites didnt like our conversation Bobby. Gee, and we were the ones going to bat for them too.

Yes B.T. , that removal of all posts was bizarre, it should be explained ?

Good forums only become good by letting members post fair expression !

Regards
Bobby.

Hello Des,

I,m sure MineLab would like to keep there Aussie customers happy like those in the states by offering similar deals in OZ regarding the XT 70 ?

Like your thoughts please

Bobby.

But if you are referring to a couple of posts deleted on the X-Terra forum, here is why it happened. Each of them contained either personal attacks on other members of this forum or false statements about a sponsoring dealer. That is not the purpose of this forum. We are here to discuss various aspects of the Minelab X-Terras. If you are talking about a different forum..... Ooooops! Never mind! HH Randy

So much for the much touted freedom of speech in the US, LOL I think it`s called vested interests.

G,day Digger. A conversation got going about Whites new to be released PI which everyone here in central Victoria, AUS, knows about.
Apparently some of the details which again is common knowledge here was not supposed to be so. I think it might have been ultimately my fault they were deleted. There is obviously a huge mouth over here saying, to gain kudos that he is a big man in the know, what he shouldn't and which everyone thought was no big secret, myself included. I better leave it there though before I dig a deeper hole.
My apologies to anyone offended.

No apologies needed here. I was just curious if someone thought that posts were deleted on the X-Terra forum that shouldn't have been. Glad to hear it isn't. I hope we all feel like we can say what we want to on here. As long as it is not a personal attack on other members, or incorrect accusations toward a dealer or distributor. Other than that, no problem! Thanks for the response. :beers: HH Randy
