[ BEST DAY EVER ] HIT MY SMALL COIN FORTUNE

TRIPLE-SSS

Well-known member
Went detecting a few days ago and finally hit my small fortune of coins. The total number was more than I found the last six months detecting. I go out about once a week or every other week. I won't give you all the details, just a quick overview.
Got up about 4:00 AM, packed a lunch and got to my location about 6:30 A M , . Tried several places and only picked up a few coins and allot of trash. About 3:30 that afternoon, I scanned this one location with my 1500 and the detector fluttered. Initially I thought it was some scrap metal but the tone was a little different so I started to dig. Heaven behold, I saw clumps of coins weathered and a blueish green color caked on each coin. The more I dug the more coins I exposed. Got a little excited and looked around to see if anyone was around, good to go. I took my home made sifter and started to sift the sand to retrieve my coins. I spent about 2 hours digging and sifting my small fortune. I took my 1500 and scanned the area and it covered about a 8 foot diameter area with that fluttering sound. By this time I was really excited but had to stop half way thorough my dig. A bad storm moved in and it was raining dogs and cats. Went to the truck but it would'ny let up. Will definitively go back for my other half.

I waited a couple of days to post this so I could clean up the coins to reveal the dates. Unfortunately nothing old, the newest coin is dated 2000 and the oldest one is 1962.

FOLLOWING IS MY SMALL FORTUNE OF COINS;
THIS IS ONLY THAT ONE LOCATION
QUARTERS--------410---$101.00
DIMES----------------176---$17.60
NICKLES------------- 39---$ 1.95
PENNIES------------ 0---$ 0.00 ---NONE
TOTAL $120.55 NOT BAD FOR 2 HOURS.
OTHER FINDS 1 MOOD RING
7 QUARTERS
5 DIMES
1 NICKLE
18 PENNIES
Just wanted to share my small fortune with everyone!

Hey, That's close enough. Thanks. Great find

Very nice T SSS that is a lot of coins. :detecting:

That is some coin spill. Gotta be a reason why it's there. Any traces of paper wrappers? Might be loot from a robbery or the site of a concession stand.

Nice nice find, and lucky too. Hope there's more. I would have kept digging in any weather.

Chris

I'd have to agree with you Chris. I wouldn't have stopped, even if it was snowing!
