Fella's,
Going to order an etrac next week and have done a little research on the distributers and was wondering which one you owners would advise??? I currently use a 505 Xterra and just want something more...
The 505 is not a bad machine at all, it

This discussion is pretty much going to be limited to forum sponsors unless people advise you via PMs. As far as I know, all the sponsors are good to deal with.

Call around and ask for pricing. If you buy with a small coil (and/or any accessories you need), they will probable cut you a little better deal and at the very least, you'll save on shipping.

I also advise everyone to use their local dealer if they have one. When you have an issue, the local dealer is the one who can help you out. It might cost you a little more than mail order, but supporting your local guy and local economy is a good idea. Even if he's a few hours drive away, having that local connection may make a huge difference in your satisfaction with your machine.

Check out the sponsors and take your pick. I went with Detector Depot because they were only about 2 hours away and also because they package deal had everything I was going to buy anyways.

As for getting the sunray probe or additional coils I would just stick with stock stuff for the first little bit and go from there. I have had my Etrac for about a month now and figure I still have about 10 years worth of learning to go. The stock Etrac is hard to beat!

I too went with Lynn and Kristi at Detector Depot. I did get the Sunray X1 and ordered the X5 small coil. They gave me a really outstanding deal. Givem a call... Evan

I have to agree with the local dealer....But you have to make sure they have the knowledge to back them when you purchase your detector. Mail order is a good way to save a few bucks especially here in Ca (the sales tax stinks) but if you have no one to help you out with any issues you have, whats the point.

I dont have a local dealer - I'm in a small town USA... but I heard some nice things about Arizona Outback, so I used them and they were very friendly and it shipped out right away! I do recommend them and will use them again. PLUS I didn't have to pay state sales tax - every little bit helps.

I always try to buy from a local dealer first. Just for the friendly advice most of them are willing to give you if you purchase from them, in person. If you don't have a local dealer, then I would surf the net for the best deal. Just my opinion

If you got a local dealer who'll give you a good price great, if not call or write mike,
He gave me price & service like no others.

i went with Detector Depot, back in 2009 I got the ETrac for $1498, X1 probe for $230 and they threw in the Leshe digger, headphone upgrade and Andy's book, Minelab carry bag, Minelab rain cover. Lynn is great to work with. Here is a video I did of the un-boxing.
