Best small coil for E-Trac?

I like the 8" sunray, I hear the 6" excelerator coil is suppose to be a real nice coil. I just picked up a 5x10 joey coil but havent used it yet.

I just bought 5" excelerator which already helped me find second silver dime in my own backyard. However nothing deep, so far. It seems to go down to maybe 5-6 inches.

I Have the 5 Inch excelerator also...It works great..But the depth is only about 5 to 6 inches .Great for seperation..I think the 6x8 s.e.f coil has gotten some great reviews if thats small enough for you..Gets great depth they say too..Rule of thumb is 1 inch of coil for 1 inch of depth I believe.Good Luck on your Choice ,Let us know how you make out..HH

I've got a 6" Excelerator and a 6x8 SEF. I like the 6" but love the 6x8 . Works great in high trash areas and get pretty good depth.

I use a 6" excelerator coil 90% of the time when hunting parks.
It does a real good job IMO. It will detect a wheatie at 8 inches at the places I hunt.
However, I can't compare it to any other small coils as I have tried no others.

seems like the 6x8 SEF is a good first additional small coil - also liked the review A Sabitsh wrote for it.
now just need the larger one for the beach/open ball fields and am ready to clean up all the left behinds...
thanks for your thoughts

I have the 6" excelerator and the 9" ML FBS. I prefer the ML for one reason, the cable is shorter. When I use the EX coil I have a big loop of cable sticking out of the lower shaft onto the top of the coil. It does not do this on the SE but the shaft on the ET seems to be a bit shorter. I have not tried the 6x8 SEF but I have heard nothing but good about it.

Frankly, unless I am in tight places I always use the Pro coil it works just fine in trash.
