BIG SILVER and Civil war relics in Illinois!

Well today it was supposed to rain and be windy here in central Illinois. Woke up and it was sunny and decent outside. Dad and I the night before found a new house in a field we have permission to. Long story short I fired up my Equinox and dad and I headed out. We walked around for about 1 hour before finding the house site. Started off slow with lots of square nails and clinkers. Then dad yells out he has a civil war bullet. Our first one! Seconds later he yells he has a button! So I started working over his way and I got a screaming 39 and 40 about 2 inches on the nox. Knowing that’s what big iron comes in but we are in a field. So I flip the plug out of the field and I saw this come flying out!!! NO WAY! At first I thought it was a big washer.... and then I saw the rim. I started yelling and dad came running over and we both celebrated for a bit and then finally calmed down a bit. Ended up being the only coin today and it’s my first silver with the nox and my oldest silver ever as well. What a great day and a great detecting year already. Couldn’t be happier!

I know you didn't scratch that coin like that:)
Nope it’s been getting plowed over for a long time in the field. Gives it some nice character of the rough life it’s had.
