BIG SILVER ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!

mj-air23

New member
I decided to take the day off being it was my birthday and headed down to a area that is known to have produced some old coins. I was working in the trash and getting a constant variety of tones when I got a loud 26 on digital about 6 inches down. Knowing that a few targets such as Indians, tokens, and some newer pennies hit in this range but are a little lower in tone. I thought it might be a good target, but I had no idea when this huge disc of silver came out of the ground. An 1883S Morgan Dollar...My first one!!! To say I was elated is an understatement.:super: After putting it in my finds pouch I continued working the trash when I hit another 26 on digital about the same depth as the last one. This one sounded sharp but with a slight low tone with it. I dug down and could hear it with my probe so I dug a little further and out popped a 1947 Walking Liberty Half along with a rusted bottle cap. 2 big silvers in one day, what a rush!! The silver gods were smiling down on me today.:)[attachment 33076 silver.JPG][attachment 33077 silver2.JPG]

What a happy birthday for you, mj!!:beers:

What kind of place was this? Are you going back there to get the rest? You must have missed something? How long were you there?

Again, congratulations, happy birthday, wow, and keep up the good work. Could you give me a hint how you do it?

Birthday Cheers,

Dug

:clapping: One half gets your blood pumping... but two! Congrats! I guess that gets me out of buying you a birthday present... ;) Happy Birthday!

Now you know the feeling of finding a Silver Dollar and a Walker in the same day as I did that at the very beginning of this months finds of the month. I noticed you didn't say where you found it and I probably wouldn't either. Now we can look at each others Silver Dollar at the hunt and Happy Birthday. Sure couldn't have found a better assortment on your birthday except for maybe Seated or a Gold Coin. Hope to see you at the hunt and Congrat's once again.:clapping:

Happy B-day! Now you can change your avatar to the Morgan! :)
