Thank you for all the advice on the black sand mode. I did not realize that my question would create such heated discussion. I just wanted a little advice on the subject, I apoligize for any problems it created.

No apologies needed. I hadn't looked at it that way. There has always been a misunderstanding about that switch ever since Whites came out with it on those detectors. I don't think a week goes by that someone doesn't ask on one for the forums about it, or I get a call/email about it.
