Bob LI re: coinsearch coil I purchased fm you,

Hi Bob, I did'nt realize the coil did not come with a coil cover and RICK ND informed me that there are two different types of coil covers depending on what model the coil was on. You said in yor fs post that you obtained the coil in a trade.... my question is, what model Sov was the coil on when you got it? I noticed that the coilcover was missing when I looked at the coil in the daylight and noticed that the bottom of the coil was like an "off-white" color and the thop of the coil had been re-coated with a whiter plasticcoat type of paint. So as of today I need to find out what type of SOV it was used on so I can try to order the cover.
Thanks in advance
Rusty, Chicago.

Rusty,

If it is a 8 inch coinsearch coil it was only used on the original or the Sovereign XS, they are both the same. I Hope I didn't misinform you on the post, but wanted to say that when the XS2 came out they used the waterproof BBS coils.
Take a good look at your coil as maybe there is a cover on it being you said the bottom is more cream color while the top is whiter. if there is no coil there will look like a ridge on it with the lower part of the coil looks smaller. If it has a cover on it the lower part of the coil will look bigger then the top part of the coil.

Hi Rustyjuan,

That is the way I got the Coinsearch, with no coil cover and the discoloration on the bottom. As Rick said any early model coinsearch coil cover will fit. I do remember that they did have a tendency to crack around the edges and fall off or get lost, perhaps that is what happened to this one. If I come across one I will be more then happy to send it to you free of charge.
