Bolt-on handle for scoop

OK, I give up. for weeks I have hunted the internet for a simple vertical or near vertical clamp-on handle to try on my scoop but all I can find is some overly complicated monstrosity:

and an overpriced one for 29+ Euros + shipping:

.

What I am looking for is a simple vertical clamp-on along the lines of the Italian device. Anyone know of anything similar on the north American market?

I put a Stout's Back Saver Grip on my Scoop. Sometimes I remember to actually use it. It makes lifting a scoop full of wet sand much easier.

You may be in luck here, check this guy out. These are in route to us as we speak and will be sold here shortly.

Here is a video on how it looks to use.

Yeh, go to Napa auto parts, go to the bicycle parts, they have just what you need in bicycle handle bars . Grubstake

Go and get you a PVC T and glue a 6 inch piece to the side hole and put a PVC cap on it. Slide it onto your scoop ( making sure you got the right size) and either secure the handle with SS screws or just duct tape it where you want it. If you have a RTG scoop I have a couple of extras I made and will send you one. PM me. I will be coming to Johnson City in a few weeks to the VA Hospital and can meet you in route. HH :minelab:

Guys, thanks for all the ideas.

George, I have something like that on my big metal scoop now. Its off of a weedeater and certainly helps, but I think I prefer a straight stick feel (I have a straight wooden peg thru my fiberglass-handled nonmetal homemade scoop).

Brad, I think that young man has that device on upside down. I see where using the ATP he has to undermount it, but I cant imagine that having it undermounted on a scoop would be better/easier than mounting it on top of the scoop (the 'up' side).

Grubstake, I had been thinking along those lines as well. What we are talking about are called 'bar ends' for mountain bikes. The only ones I've seen online are 22mm+/- and I need one about 38mm. If the bar ends took 2 bolts instead of relying on just 1 and the bending of the metal (all of them that I have seen), I think I could make it work. I'll check out NAPA and some bike stores tho.

hershey1, that's a good idea. I like that kind of thinking (i'm a miser at heart). And thank you for the kind offer, but I'll give it a try and holler at you if I cant make if work. (its for some handle I got at HomeD anyway.)
Good Luck at the VA. (watch out for the check-in secretary with the cutest sundress you'll ever see- he doesn't shave his legs).

I saw that too, when it was brought in here, we put it on top. But I guess that would be another way to do it, sort of like a rifle type handle. Comfortable for some people.

KinTN: Try Auxiliary drill handles . ( Google ) I think Bosch makes one for less than ten bucks shipping included.
