Brass knuckle looking thing

I'm stumped but it looks like it has a taper so I doubt it is knuckles, iron, steel or otherwise. I was thinking it could be an end piece of a horse hanes or singletree but only if it were hollow so that can't be it. There are a lot of odd shaped iron pieces used on farm equipment, it could be from a tractor or harvesting machinery.
What were some of the other iron pieces you found? I can see a couple in the picture, they may give clues to what it is from.

Token is a undated store card from 1863-65.. The other two relics were a handmade hook, and a piece of an old horseshoe... I kept the horseshoe because I thought it was odd the fullered portion was so close to the outside of the shoe. This is much different than shoes manufactured or handmade now in days. I am a certified blacksmith and have made shoes from bar stock in the past... Just odd it's so close to the outer portion..

My guess is a hammer for tapping or tamping something . You could still use both hands and not have
to lay the tool down or pick it up while doing something repetitive .
