Bright spot in a slow hunt

Finally melted some of the 6 inches of snow today and with the temps above freezing I headed out for a few hours this afternoon. The first site has produced little in the past but is old and was in beans this season. But after 2 hours of gridding, I had lots of stuff and not one keeper, so I shifted gears as the sun was closing down. This particular on room school from the 1890's is a tough nut, lots of coke from burning coal and likely been hunted before I "discovered" it. This petite 18k sounded like the other 3 shotgun shells I had just dug but it had a different look LOL. I kept my fingers crossed till I give the first rub and it wasn't plated. The gold had a strange tone and I was betting high grade as the look was different, good bet! Great to get out.

Nice find Jeff you can keep that snow too! 50 here today just got a 1800's farm down the road from my home which had a old store on the corner I'm dying to go today!
I've been in there one time before with the owners nephew found a silver quarter quickly we did not hunt long enough which bummed me out.

Gold is gold!! Good job man. The snow melted here but was replaced with too much rain... hhricknmi
