Broke my silver drought...

this evening with a 1900 Barber Half Dollar. Now I've got to learn patience so I can retrieve targets without hacking up the surface. Some friends and I got permission to hunt a yard on Sunday and I've been going back every day since then. So far I've found wheat cents from the 40's and 50's, toy cars, memorial cents and clad, and an Eagle 6 Lever padlock. Tonight it was almost dark and the mosquitoes were swarming when I found this half at about seven inches and on edge. Nothing like a scratched up obverse on the first Barber Half I've found to teach me to slow down.

Really nice job finding it on edge!

That is one heck of a way to break your Silver Drought!:super: Congrats on that great Coin and Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt in that yard.:detecting:

scratching up a coin. It was someone else who scratched up their first seated half dollar:cool:. Not me:bouncy:
Seriously...congrats on a sweet find.

Nice find with your Barber Half dollar.:clapping:
Scratch or not, it's still a sweet silver coin.
We all learn to slow down that way....
Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

Exciting finding a Barber half !! We all scratch one now and then. Two weekends ago I found a nice 1894 Barber half - scratched the obverse just like you !
It happens, right Bryce?
