Bucket lister

woodbutcher

Well-known member
This year has been slow for me,haven’t been out much but this week I’ve managed two good hunts resulting in a mercury dime, and a bucket lister holed coin.
I live across from a old church yard,,usto be a woman’s rectory ther in the very late 1700s,,then a Catholic Church in the 1800s,,Both tore down or burned down, and the more recent Catholic Church built in the 1940s..
I was running multi 2 when I found the merc,,,I was running multi 1 tonight when I found the 1836 holed dime..I got a jumpy 40s to 50s signal tonight that kept hitting that real high tone..I dug my shovels length,7 inch plug..still in the hole..took another stab of dirt out and it was out..I’m excited, big bucket lister for me..dug a few more coins and called it a night...I’ve been running the 6 inch coil,,my recovery at 5 and iron bias I think it is at 4...Legend is just a great machine,I’m glad to have it..

That's great. Congratulations on a great piece of history.
There is more you know.

Stating that there may have been a burn there…… at some point try running in F mode and just 4khz. Yes it runs the battery down within four hours but the coins jump out real good, especially the deeper silver.
As said, there is more there.
Love that older coin!!!

Have you tried the waterproof external battery? Thats why i like it, not heavy balances nice and you can basically run all day in the mode you described.
I always preferred batteries you can replace for that reason if you are in middle of hunting just pop in fresh batteries and keep going. The main downside of a built in rechargeable and you have to wait hours to recharge. The external battery solves that.

I have not. By the time the regular battery has gone down Im pretty well done too. When we go camping I plan on taking the spare and using it then.

I carry a flashlight too but never used it during the daylight hours……

I carry/have a lot of equipment in my pack. I’ve had the need for a few things and make use when I do have the need. I’ve not had the need for the battery, yet.

Come to think of it I think the legend has a flashlight on it? Lol,I never thought to check

It does have an exterior light on the front. I have a single AA battery light in the finds pouch which puts much more light closer into the plug when its getting darker. Carrot has a light too but not bright enough when its those last few minutes type hunts.
