I found a collar disc in a WW1 dumpsite that had USNA in script exactly like yours except mine had an A where yours has the C. Mine turned out to be the insignia for the United States National Army......maybe yours could be for the Calvary?

It's a 1917 United States National Guard collar disk insignia. The "C" looking letter is actually a "G". You can view and date it on this site. http://hglanham.tripod.com/metalinsignia/collardisk1.html

Good eye Flinthunter! I clearly see the G now... I thought I was looking at a C yesterday:look: Ha!
