Cam lock troubles

I use a 15" WOT every once in a great while on the beaches, maybe I have 20 hours with it. I have a separate upper and lower shaft to go with it. The cam lock has failed on the upper shaft. has anyone else had this problem? how did you fix it? I have/am trying electrical tape to build the pressure point up, both on the inside and outside surfaces and it still slips. I can carry a roll of tape with me and just tape the joint, but that looks and is pretty jury rigged. I am hoping for a permanent fix. Thanks for your thoughts. Terry

There is a video on mlotv that shows you how to replace the orange rubber part.

The orange rubber part under the lever should have a metal plate. THese are glued in place and sometimes fall out. Check to see if the plate is still there?
I have also made a replacement plate that was a little thicker so it would grab the middle shaft better.
Or call Minelab for a replacement.

Jeff
