Can a PI be deeper than a Deus 2

targets

Active member
I was wondering cos on one of my sites ids seem marginal ,its cheaper on eBay to gets second hand cscope PI machine than buy a bigger coil to investigate deep ids, I was using an 11 coil compared to a 9 inch coil and they seem just out of range..

What do you mean by "marginal"?

PIs can definitely be deeper than the D2 in certain mineralized ground (especially red clay). You lose a lot of discrimination capabilities, though, so if the area is too trashy, you'll have to dig a lot of stuff.

Maybe ya' want a go-to machine, depth'.. as the teknetics t-2 L.E. , excellent depth / sep... I own a D-2 & I still use the T-2... Open field relics.. , actually I bring em' both.! ⛏️🪏.. just saying..

This is a great suggestion. A T2 in all metal mode is a nice compliment to the D2, especially for those deeper targets. And importantly you should be able find one for a few hundred bucks (or pounds, since OP seems to be in the UK).

Another idea: I haven't been able to test out the non-motion all metal mode that XP added to the D2 with v 4.0, but I'm curious whether it might also be a good option for those deeper targets that are out-of-range for our standard motion discrimination programs.
