Can anyone explain the + sign on the F75 Display.

Great question! I remember thinking the same thing the other day but I forgot to ask the question! The + shows up about ever 15 minutes on mine but I can't remember the situation it is like there and then gone quick.

I usually have the + sign when I'm over a hot rock or a piece of coal. We've found the coal in CW campsites where troops were burning it to start their fires.

That's all I have on the + sign. Anyone else?

I may be wrong, but I thought if that showed up it was the overload symbol. I may be wrong if I am someone correct me. I am not 100% sure.

I, too, think it is as overload signal. That is what I have always associated the + reading with, anyway. HH jim tn

Might have missed it though. Like I said machine works great. Just noticed the plus(+) sign Sunday on occasion

That is my thoughts on the + symbol too....hot rocks. I run into the + sign more at my bad dirt sites when the detector gives an almost "hollow sounding" beep that you just have to hear to know what I'm talking about.

Yea - I would think the same - raise the coil and re-sweep, raise more if need to be. If it's very large size of junk, it just goes haywire. I got curious once and dug up a cast iron umbrella stand - big old square one. I think I was using either the F-75 or Cortes then when I dug it up.
