Can you ID this flat button?

Can you tell what it says on the back? That will help alot with the ID and age. I can tell there are letters but I cannot read them. It looks like the 2nd pic would show them if I could see the original(large) image. Try uploading that pic to a hosting site and linking it here, or take a closer pic.
 
It says "W&R Smith Treble Gilt" on the reverse. I'd like to see the front to further narrow the use and ID of the button.
Here is a button made by the same company dating aprox 1820 and was a U.S. NAVY OFFICER Uniform Button.....
