i tried it but the coil goes into overload mode and ground balance is not possible .
is there an answer ?

I have put my coil below the surface of a few streams with no problems. Teknetics told me a few years ago that the coil is waterproof. You may have a leak, check with Teknetics and send it in if they suggest you do so.

How does the coil do out of the water after dunking it? If you are in wet sand/ salt water, unless you manually gb, it will be very unstable. Ground balancing in wet sand with mine when I had it, the gb was in the single digets. Good luck. HH jim tn

out of the water its ok ,fresh water ,#
i will try GB

If its fresh water, and the machine is spazzing out, its probably one of two things. As noted by others, a faulty coil. Or, the ground under the water is vastly different than the dry soil. Possibly black sand, highly mineralized rock (pebbles etc). Put the coil in a non-metallic container of fresh water and see how it responds. If it spazzes, then off to the factory it goes. If not, then the problem is indigenous to the location you were detecting.
