I left my etrac overseas in italy and tomorrow im going to buy another detector to hold me over unitl next month till i get another one(they are sold out everywhere) if anyone is selling one let me know....

i will be using it for coin hunting parks and beach, i had the se pro before the etrac and it drove me crazy but i figure since i got so good with the etrac i can prob handle the se now, but i have been off the boards for a while and i would appreciate a good detector since i cant get my hands on an etrac

thanks

there are several explorers for sale on different forums. The guys that have used explorers a long time and are really good with them say they are just as good as etrac. I myself would go with explorer after using a x-70, x-50 F70 and a teknetics 8000 the top of the line minelabs (etrac and explorer line) are so much better. Craig

ps Indian Nations Detector has an explorer se for 750 with 2 rechargable packs and alkaline battery pack. If i could afford i would buy, but i have etrac anyway.

I believe a very experienced Explorer SE user can give the E-Trac'er a run for their money, but put that same experience on an E-Trac and it's game over.

Unless you are someone simply hunting recently lost coins or have a need for the prospecting mode (since the Explorer is not as sensitive to small gold as the X-70/705 would be especially with the HF coil and running in the prospecting mode), the Explorer would be a better bet.

The one that Indian Nations has would be a great deal if it is still available . . . . . and he's a dealer that stands behind what he sells so you can have confidence you are not getting a "pig in a poke".

Those E-Tracs are hard to find. Took me a couple months to find one. Should have it in a week or two.

I would get a good used Explorer 2. It doesn't have all of the information on the screen and is not as fast at recovery between targets, but is just as deep. Also consider a 12 inch Sun Ray coil.
