Being the second guy in the video,(unbeknownst to me), I agree. I usually leave that rocky place with a pouchful of pulltabs and my share of rings and things. I wish I could find that guy, kinda ticks me off, being used in a video without my knowledge or permission. BTW, that was about 2 years ago, near as I can tell. That is my OLD scoop, since replaced with a Reillys stainless steel. And the first guy is my hunting buddy and he does pretty good with his method, finds lots of small toe rings and such that I miss. You gotta understand that scooping this place is almost impossible, so you just kinda scrape at it. And we do hunt the deep water!!
 
That first guy is my hunting buddy. I'm the second guy. We were filmed without our knowledge or consent. And he's no idiot. We're not hunting your soft sandy beaches here, it's freaking hard packed clay and rock!! Sometimes you have to get a hole thru it so you can scoop. Wish I could get my hands on Mr. Aquavac, he's gonna get us all banned from the few places we have to hunt around here.
 
Oh yes, they do have a website!! It's http://www.aquavak.com. They are pairing this monstristy with a CZ 21. If they or anyone else gets caught using one in a Corps of Enginners lake in Texas, we might all be banned, definately against their rules. I sent them an e-mail telling them to cease and desist using our images without our permission. If there is no response, the next one they hear from will be my attorney. No way I want to be associated with this thing.
 
No worries, but funny and stupid are two different things, choose your words carefully!! We may look funny out there scratching away at that rocky stuff, but I'll bet people see you out digging away on the beach and think you look funny too!! We all have to use what tools we have to get that loot out of the water!!

They probobly read this site as well. I see the unit as a dredging operation more than anything, it's overkill at the beach. The best way to describe it is that at the beach, it's like a Chuck Norris joke - hence the title of the thread - I don't think it's practical enough to use at the beach so I wouldn't worry about people using it, not many would want to.
 
They even disabled their videos on their website? That thing is a sure fire way to have every beach ban MD. The least intrusive way is to use a MD. There is no need for something like that except if you're doing a shipwreck or some out of the way place AWAY from people.

All they will do is give metal detectorists everywhere a bad name and get us banned from our favorite water hunting sites. I guess I'll let this go now, as I could rant and rave for quite some time, cuz really, at &1500-$2500 apiece, who in their right mind would buy one!!

you'd be surprised :lmfao: there will be some nitwit out there thinking this is a quick rich scheme as it looks good in theory but once he starts using it and all the noise it makes he'll get booted off really quick. I didn't get a chance to see the vid but others from their comments said it was pretty loud. People would gripe if we never used headphones for our MD just hearing the signals go off never mind this monstrosity.
 
Hey BCD I saw one of those monstrosities in action just before IKE. As you know I am almose deaf, but I could hear it running 200 yards away WITH MY EARPHONES ON. The guy was proud of it. Just goes to show that if you have something good, some ass will screw it up.....HH Gayle
