Choice of headphones for the Explorer

Hello all, I have a question for a problem that I'm having with my SE and EX2 with headphones. I have a set of Ratphones and Nugget Buster phones, along with the Koss ur30's. They all are a little too basey. What is your preference in your choice for headphones and in your opinion on a higher tone headphone with plenty of volume. By the way my hearing is very good. I got a pair of Sunray Gold Pros for Christmas and I love them. May order a second pair as a backup.

I have tried many, and to me the Ultimate Grey Ghost has the best tone. You pay a little more, but it's worth it.

I'm happy with my Ratphone and Sun Ray Gold Pro and have sure read lots of good posts on Killer Bs.
I have the Koss UR-30 that came with the Explorer-2 but can't recall ever trying them.
I guess I have never looked at my headphones being heavy on the base. Maybe my hearing or it never occurred to me about base.

I agree with you John.....I have the UGG's and prefer them to the sunray pro golds....the sunrays seem too high and tinny to me...they seem to ping and ting......the UGG's are about $117 I think.....but well worth it

I bought the Rats because their little technical page made them sound better only to find the SunRays I had were better quality. The SunRay golds simply sound better and have less distortion as well as I can set my threshold a point lower and still hear it.
