Christmas eve...VERY cold...VERY wet...LAST hunt of '09...one TROPHY coin:yikes:

I have been extremely busy and the holidays were hectic. I hope you all had a great Christmas/New year week...and 2010 is a good one for us all.

I have been putting the Sunray X-12 coil through the paces and can't say a whole lot at this time as was the case with the X-5 coil post a few weeks back

Please watch for a field test report in an upcoming issue of Western & Eastern Treasures Magazine for all the details on the X-12 coil .

The article in the magazine will be a VERY THOROUGH field test of the X-12....and I spent a lot of time on the testing.

I just wanted to show the find that made hunting on Christmas eve in heavy rain and 33 degree temps...very much worthwhile.

I have only found 3 bust dimes in my 35 years of hunting...and 2 of them have come from this particular site.

I think the coin looked nicer UNTIL I TOOK GUVNER'S ADVICE :cool:and soaked it in soapy water.

Looks like it had a little detail until I did so. I should have just rinsed it in warm water...but oh well. Thanks a bunch G.:smoke: No more advice from you.:bouncy:

On a serious note....I couldn't care less about the condition...and am just giving G a hard time. It is all about the thrill for me. I don't sell anything I find anyway...and just enjoy the "kid in a candy store feeling" I get when I see the grayish glint of silver in the hole.

Just a few short weeks later I held a contest to give this dime away on the forum and the winner (Mark) is pictured below holding the dime.

What an amazing amount of self inflicted cold and wet to get that beauty... I'd hunt in those conditions to find one...

Sister. Not trying to steal your thunder but I had to post they are so much alike. Good Job and I wish the weather would break I'm froze in solid with snow on the way.

I look forward to hunting with you and Darrell next year. I sent you a pm about the x12 coil.
You guys have sure pulled some nice old coins from that place. Darrell always seems to get the old copper though and you get the silver:thumbup:

Very nice coin Bryce.....
Glad you didn't take G's advice and
use battery acid instead of soapy water.
(could be a tinge of "green" showing from
Mr. Guvner?) That coin will help keep you
warm until springtime....just pick it up and
get that nice, warm feeling when you get
cabin fever. Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

my last silver dime found on New Years Eve .:surprised: I guess that makes me a week late and 107 years short .:rofl
Great going on your 3rd Caped Bust Bryce . Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing your great finds in 2010 .:beers:

It just looks like a spot where it has been dinged a little. It doesn't look like a scratch or gouge...just a ding.

Way to go Bryce!!! That is one sweet coin. Heck of a way to end the year. :clapping:

Oh BTW Guvner if you read this, ready to plan a spring trip there to raid your parks. When do I need to apply for my permit??
