Civil war hat pin??

Found this in a field with plenty of civil war activity. Never seen this type of eagle or bird. To bad the head is broke off...Lol Any of you guys have an opinion on what it might be?? Worn flat on both sides with no evidence of attachments.

Nope sure haven't. Might be civilian. Different then all military styles I've seen.
