Civil war token.

Great stuff - think I would have stayed the rest of the day...."I'm sick" (I'm sick I have to leave this field with some great finds)

I have yet to find an old token - though I've found a bunch of Chuck-E Cheese tokens and a few other assorted modern ones.

Nice find!

have a grand total of one half hour in this field but that is in a small area with not much high grass.I'm hoping that they will cut the grass soon.GR

Went for a long lunch with my wife and left my car in front of my shop.We came back to work and she left for the day.I jumped into my van and headed for the field for a half hour hunt.
Got out of my van and headed around back to grab the SE.Open the hatch...NO SE...Gone. Along with X1 probe and detector pro headphones.gr

If you can soak your button (which is brass by the way) and token in warm, soapy water, it will clean up a little better, using only a soft toothbrush. Then see if you can get us a good, clear pic of the back of your button and both sides of your token. Post them in the Relic forum and see how much info you can get on your token. Your button is a one piece button that we commonly refer to as a "coin," "flat," or "penny button." It pre-dates the Civil War by decades. The token is a nice find as well. Good hunting, David@Dixie

Did i read that right GR?

Your detector gone?

Tell me it was in the car.... (I read your post three times)

I still can't believe it I keep looking in the back of my van thinking that I made a mistake but I didn't. This really sucks! I sold my backup unit a month ago. If anyone sees an SE for sale from the CT. area my SN# is 13251 thanks and I won't be posting any photos for some time.Good luck all and keep a close eye on you equipment.GR

I would repost the message SE stolen, maybe here and under metal detecting..... You never know it might just turn up.

I would hit all the pawn shops in the area, and hopefully you have reported it to the police station.
