Hi guys its been a long time since I've posted. I went back to a site that was home to union soldiers and found an awesome hat clip with good detail.

Does anyone have any tips for finding buttons? I can't seem to find a tid ist with confederate/union buttons on it

What settings would you guys recommend using? If I swapped to relic mode any tips for identifying good vs junk?

Buttons can be all over the VID spectrum. I have dug them from 12-12 up to 12-28. My advice is dig all those low conductors and you will dig up the buttons that come under your coil. My relic pattern is mostly open with everything from FE 30 notched out. Yeah you dig foil and pull tabs, but you won't miss those buck balls or small US gold coins.

That sounds perfect I'm going to try an open pattern do good relics usually form a solid red circle or could it be down in the blue range
