Coil inter-changeability????

Grunter

Active member
Are all Etrac and Explorer coils inter-changeable? I have a 5" Excelerator coil that I recently aquired. It works great on my Explorer but will not mate with my Etrac. It is a 5 pin connector but appears to be slightly larger than the Etracs coil connector.

eTRAC and Explorer coils are supposed to be interchangable from one detector to the other.
Do both coil connectors have the same nunber of pins?

Could be the Excelerator connector is larger because SEF used a different connector vendor than Minelab but it 'should' be compatible.
Minelab and 3rd party coil company's all lump their eTRAC coils as compatible with Explorers also. Both detectors use FBS.

If they absolutely don't mate, post some pics and maybe myself or some one else can sort it out.

Thanks for the info. Ironsights. I greased the plug up with lithium and it went right in,works like its suppose to.
