Coil Problem

Member
I am having problems with my stock coil on the SE. It seems to be making a lot of noise. I wiggle the wire going into the coil and it makes lots of noies. I hit side of the coil with my hand it makes a lot of noise. I bump the ground it makes a lot of noise. When I put my 8" excelarator coil none of those things happen. So what I am asking I guess I have to send the coil back to Minelab?? Has anyone here had any problems like that, and was it just the coil. I don't think I have to send the entire machine back do I?????

I had a similar problem once with a coil that would go ape when bumping the coil. By phone inquiry, the manufacturer suspected a loose wire in the coil. I didn't send it in, I just bought another coil of a different size.
The manufacturer had asked to send the coil in, not the machine itself. I know I should have sent it in, but was thinking of a different size coil at the time anyway.

You were crazy for not getting a replacement new coil for your explorer , new ones are around $300 give or take a few. My coil was also duff from the start , i got mine replaced pronto.
