Coils & Omega

D&P-OR

Well-known member
Has anyone tried the 5X10" DD coil on the Omega?-----If so, how does it compare in depth, target seperation, etc. with the 11" DD?----Does it handle b.c.'s better than the 11"?----Would appreciate any & all info you could give me about those two coils when used on the Omega.--------------Thanks, Del

WOW, I must have said a bad word!---103 views & not a single response to the question.----OK, let me re-phrase it----Has anybody used the (fairly new) 5X10" DD coil on the Omega?-----How'd ya like it on that detector?-----Jim, ain't you tried that coil yet?? ;)---------Del

No Del, I haven't. I've been thinking about it, but somewhat like you, I am wondering what it does differently then the 11?" HH jim tn

Del.....'bad word'...lol. Mike Hillis has 5x10 coil for his F5...alas, its not the detector your requesting. He will be evaluating the 5x10 on the F5 when he does the F5 vs AT Pro comparision. I have a sneaking hunch that the Omega will get maximum overdrive from the 5x10 like it does with the 11" & 5" DD coils. The Omega design seems to benefit more from DD coil technology than other First Texas machines do with equivalent DD coils.

Thanks guys.-----Terra--Mike did a super report sometime back on the F-5 & Omega, I read it several times & really got a lot out of it.-----He didn't have the 5X10 DD at that time though.----It's going to be very interesting to see his report on the F-5 & AT Pro with the 5X10 included on the F-5.-----Wish he was throwing the Omega & 5X10 in that test/comparison also-----Hey Mike--ya listenin?? ;)----------Del

I would like to know the answer also.
Thats why I looked.
