I have the sun ray stealth x5 I really like it for ghost towns to get between the sage brush but I have not used any other coil expt the pro coil so I have no basis of comparison but the x5 gives good depth I got 7-8 inches deep

Go to the Minelab Explorer forum and look near the top of the page for Bryce's coil field tests and finds - this post has almost 9000 hits.
A lot of great info.on the Sunray X-5 and 6" Excellerators coils - just follow the links on the page.
I just bought a 6" Excellerator coil myself - didn't receive it yet - but from what I've read - both coils are great !

I have owned both the Sunray X-5 Coil and the Excelerator 6" DD coil. From my experience, of the two, the Sunray X-5 coil is by far the better coil.
The reason I say that is that I could never get any depth out of the Excelerator coil. The deepest coin I could detect with the excelerator coil was about 3 or 4 inches deep. My X-5 coil will detect coins twice that deep.
Maybe I just got a bad coil?? Don't know.
