Cold weather may bring relief to sore elbow ?

Didn't think that I 'd be looking forward to hanging up the Safari and taking an extended break detecting due to the cold weather in Central Jersey, but I am now..After swinging a BH (a much lighter machine) for dozen years and never experiencing any aches or pains in my arms, I've got right elbow pain ( my swinging arm ) that I started to notice in early December. I had tried alternating by switching arms, but I didn't realize how weak my left was in comparison. I had only purchased the Safari last March. I briefly searched the archives here and the pain appears to be an an issue for some explorer and Garrett users, too. I think some of them may be using a "swingy-thingy" harness to combat the elbow pain when detecting.. Currently, using some icy-hot roll on for temp relief..
Any of you fellow /female Safari users in the same boat ?

I use the Swingy Thingy when I am using the 15" WOT coil, mostly for my shoulder but also for my elbow. Once you have it properly balanced there is no strain on either joint and I can go for very long days even with the heavier coil. The only downside is that it can get tangled up when you want to lay the machine on the ground to free up both hands for searching in the hole. I cut the retaining clip off the hook that attaches the machine to the chest rig so I can easily unhook it to put it down. I have never had it come undone when swinging or carrying the machine because the weight of the machine keeps it locked into the "D" ring in the harness.

Good luck,
TomH

Sorry about the pain. Hope this break does the trick. We have lots of things on our lists that we need to find!!! Guess it is time for research.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

Wrap that elbw in a heating pad on low... Try and keep it on for an hour or so.. You'll be astounded in the relief.. Sometime one can develop a cold in a joint and heat seems to drive it away...
