Critter ,
You know as well as I do that everybody runs their machine differently ....What works for me in my area , may not work for you in your area .....Just like learning the Sovereign , you have to learn the E Trac and what settings work best for you ...... Andy's coin program is not a bad program to start with ....It's a VERY broad program and includes more than what I want for my type of hunting , but works very well just the same ..... Here's the way I would set my machine for a trashy park ....My program discriminates more than the coin program , but run the Coin program to get your feet wet ..... It iwll probably have more than what you want in there , but after hearing so much of what you don't want , you will make a mental or a written note as to what you DON'T want to hear, and you will see after you did the target what you want or don't want .....
Sensitivity :.......Auto +3
# of Tones ......Multi
Sounds .......Conduct
Variability .......26
Limits ...........30
Expert
Recovery Deep ....OFF
Recovery Fast ....ON
Trash Density .....High
Ground ......Difficult
Noise Cancel .....Whatever it noise cancels to in the beggining of hunting that particular area ..... I will type some settings up and send them to you ......Again, they may not be what you want for your type of hunting , or for the area you hunt ......or to your liking !!.....Remember you like to notch out pull tabs ....I don't .....I would have my Audio Response as ...Normal and you might like yours at ...LONG ........ I run my Threshold pitch higher than the factory setting because I hear targets better at higher pitch ....You may not like that .....A lot of it is PERSONAL PREFERE NCE .......Once you set your machine up and work with it for a while , you will either leave it , or change what you don't like .....A LOT of the settings are settings that you will more than likely never touch again once you set it up and get it to your liking ..... I would venture to say that once you set your machine up to your liking that 1/2 of the settings that you mess with will remain the same when you run your machine .....It will get to the point where you will know the area that you are hunting and the targets that are there, or you think will be there , and you will make a preset for that area ....You will then go to that area , turn the machine on , go to the preset for that area and punch it in , noise balance , and OFF YOU GO !!!.....That's It !!......Your settings will alll be in the preset and will be remembered each time you go back to them .....Jim

researching/reading the Omega looks like it has some potential. Some say it's lower frequency penetrates ground minerals better and also hits on silver harder at depth than the T2SE or the F75ltd. More research is in order...
......You come from a machine where the numbering system gangs a few different coins and targets on one number 180 , yet you comlain about a number 12 Ferrous line being too compressed ? ....
