A friend just bought one and I'm trying to talk another friend into selling off his old Whites water unit, which is a bacup to his Excal and so he never uses it, for an At Pro. That way not only does he have a better backup for water hunting, but now he'd have a great land machine as well. He has a 6000 Pro XL and just bought an Etrac, which he isn't all that happy with thus far. Told him the At Pro might become his preference for land hunting if he doesn't start liking the Etrac.
Here's that AT Pro forum search info...

Critter, you sounds like a sales rep for Garrett!!
Actually I agree It does sounds like an interesting detector. Personally I think all mid to high end detectors should have at least a minimal level of water proofing. Most detectors have a waterproof coil that supports hunting in shallow water. With that in mind it just makes good sense to have protection against a rough wave, getting splashed, accidental dunk in the water, getting caught in a rainstorm, etc. Plus it is super nice to be able to simply rinse off your detector at the end of a hunt without worrying about frying the control box.
How easy is that?
