Cool Silver Spoon Today 29 Sept.

Hello All,
Got out for a couple hours this AM. Hit the yard I scored 7 silvers 2 weeks ago. A lot of can slaw and one tomahawk looking ax, but did manage 5 wheaties (17 total for this yard so far.) Then hit a 37-38, about 4-5 inches down, I'm thinking wheatie maybe a dime. Turned out to be a Silver Spoon from the Delta Line a cruise ship company. I looked it up and they began just after WWII when they bought 3 cargo ship and transformed them into cruise ships. This spoon represents one of those 3 ships. I am very excited about this find. Funny thing is I work for Delta, just not the cruise line.

Bunky- That is ironic ! A very cool find. I like the image of the cruise ship (unless I'm hallucinating) on the shaft. I would guess it's is more suitable for a righty,as opposed to a lefty diner whereas the image would be on the other side of the shaft ?

Hey kschae4, I guess I did the cardinal sin of posting pix. I didn't put anything in for size comparison. It is probably a coffee, tea stirring spoon. About 4 and a half inches long. My Bad!

Thats what I call digging history.Boy what a cool find.That's what makes detecting great.You never know what's going to pop out of the hole.Now you just have to find the rest of the setting!Better get busy.

Very unusual find...it's amazing what's still in the ground and it's little 'treasure's' like this silver spoon and the history behind it that make M.D.'ing so much fun and worth the time spent. Great find!!
