I would appreciate prayers for my pain to lessen. I went hiking this morning (something I do fairly often). Ran across a big snake on the trail and picked up a huge rock to chunk at it in hopes of killing it. No boos or hisses from the snake lovers, please! I hate snakes and the only good one, poisonous or not, is a dead one. We have an over abundance of them here in the South! Anyway, After throwing the rock (and hitting the snake), I was going to take a couple of steps backwards when my heel caught on a rock that was sticking up out of the ground and I fell back, landing on my behind. I evidently twisted my knee badly as I went down. I was in excruciating pain but had to walk three miles out of the woods, including up the side of a mountain, to get back to my Jeep. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and figured I had just twisted it badly enough to make it hurt much worse than it usually does. Tim insisted on taking me to the ER. The ER doctor says that I tore the meniscus, and possibly some other stuff in my knee. He says I have to see the orthopedic doctor next week and is pretty sure I'll have to have surgery to repair it but we wont know for sure until then. He gave me pain shots and prescriptions for pain meds and for nausea (because the pain meds might make me sick). I'm having to wear a knee immobilizer and he also put me on crutches. It HURTS!!!! And I hate this! I need to be hiking, working, and tending to life in general! I don't like just sitting around.
