Here it is the start of our short season in New England, and the E Trac goes kaput! My quick mask and pinpoint buttons are unresponsive. Did a soft reset, nothing. Went to do a hard reset and it wouldn't let me! The cursor (using the UP arrow) would not go up to confirm (YES) the reset.
Has anyone had a similar thing happen? Do we know what ML's turn-around time has been lately?
I have vacation the week after next, and was hoping to be out in the dirt, but I guess that the chances are slim to none :(

what a shame as if i lived over the pond you could have borrowed my etrac because my sister is here from australia and i havent got the time to go out so it is just sitting there for a couple of weeks how unfair is that lol hope it gets sorted soon

i cant help you but you do have my sympathies. that sucks!

Give them a call first. Minelab Customer care # 1-877-767-6522 hopefully they have heard of this kind of problem and help without sending your machine in for repair. Good luck.

my suggestion buy any used explorer until you will receive etrac back-they are very similar, you can use it with your new coil and all the rest stuff. good luck

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to call Minelab tomorrow and see what they know. I have a XT 705, and a Tesoro Vaquero that I may frustrate the heck out of myself with while I wait for the ET to get fixed.
After messing with the ET today, the quick mask, pin point AND the up arrow keys are all shot. I wonder if a plug came un-plugged inside? Anybody have a schematic they can share? Thanks!

Spoke with Minelab service yesterday, and sent the ET right out. They were very helpful on the phone as we tried to diagnose the problem, and decided it best to send it in. It "looks" to be a faulty keypad.
Man made things break, that's life, but the more important thing to me is how a company deals with the situation. The way I was treated yesterday, by multiple folks at Minelab, was the best. I'll let you know how it turns out....

Yes, things break....hopefully not a firing pin!

It will be interesting to see how Minelab treats you....so far so good I guess.

If you need to borrow an extra detector of mine...let me know!

Yes James, a firing pin would be MUCH worse!
Thanks for the generous offer, but hopefully it will be back to me in short order :)

My timing must have been good! Got the ET back yesterday, a faulty control panel was replaced, all is well. Thanks for the responses!
