CS4pi

Still a problem with it so it will be taking a trip to cscope under warranty.Personally i think its a coil issue.......this day and age they shouldn't be leaving the factory with faults.

Wonder if they even test them after manufacturing. Testing takes time and time is money. If they have very few issues on newly made ones, they may not test them. Good luck getting it sorted out!

Really interested in the CS4pi and hope it works so thanks. Yea, coil covers suck, esp if you water hunt and sand and water get inside cover and move causing increased noise and reduced target signal to noise ratio.
Years ago on a hunt with a Fisher CZ in the water with a coil cover on, as the hunt progressed I was digging fewer and fewer targets and all were dimes or quarters. When I got to the car, I tried some targets and found it would not hit nickles at all. Pulled the coil cover off and saw a lot of black sand had worked its way into the cover. Cleaned that away and the detector would again detect the low conductive targets and detect them well. That was the last time I went out with coil cover.

Well went out with it today and i think its a faulty unit so i've emailed c scope with the issues i was having.Spurious high pitched signals and threshold icreasing wildly and then returning to normal.......sounds like something in the electronics isn't quite right.Still, managed this earing and it was really fun to use...had a couple of deep signals, one was alumiium and one i had to give up on.May take it back out tomorrow to a different part of the beach to make sure its not an interference issue.View attachment 84483
Nauti,
I remember you having interference problems with other machines out there.
Sure it's not EMI ?
I still think you could have a radar unit messing with you.
Not all military radars are logged on any list.

Every now and then on my favorite pain in the butt beach.
Iron infested from 160+ years of iron ore being off loaded.

Coast guard across the river outlet fires something up and nothing runs correctly.
Hate when they do that.
