CTX 06 Smart Coil

You can't beat it in an area with a lot of trash. It gets very good depth and super seperation. I used the 6" last fall on two vacant lots that were loaded with nails, pull tabs, etc. The first day I used the standard coil. The next day I used the 6" with the same settings and covered exactly the same area. I had more keeper targets with the 6", including a walking liberty half, than with the larger coil. The area I hunted, I pulled coils from as deep as with the standard coil, possibly deeper due to more trash that was being under the larger coil. I know the 6" will go 6" plus deep. I have a 1917 merc from another site, that the FP info in the XChange2 shows 10 inches. I also have a 1935 merc, from the yard of a farm house that had burned a week or so before, and it was 7" deep and amidst a lot of junk. There maybe some non believers about that, but that depth info is recorded when scanning and can't be edited to show a different depth. I actually like using the 6" better than the larger coil. Hopefully the ground will thaw soon so I can get out with it again........HH

That's a great and pretty convincing report CR

Can't wait till I have enough $$$ for one

Informative info, thanks. I use a 5x8 and a sniper on one of my other detectors, they have their uses, on a waiting list for a 6 on the CTX.

Hi Paul,

You'll love it!

My problem is I loaned mine to another hunter and he won't give it back!

Not only does it have uncanny separation it goes deep too!
I've often taken multiple targets from holes...a weekly occurrence whereas with E Trac it happened just a few times a year!!

Good Hunting

I use the 6" instead of the stock coil for my hunting. Good depth, excellent target separation, easy pinpointing. I do think however that an 8" coil would be the perfect size and will get one if they ever become available.

I agree with Steve. I like hunting with a smaller coil. The 6 inch is very good and I have made a few nice finds with it, but I would love an 8 inch coil for a little more ground coverage.

I agree with an intermediate size coil. For me, that would probably be my "go to coil". I would really like to see a half size version of the 17" coil. It would allow good ground coverage and allow getting closer on the side in confined areas, crop rows, woods, etc.........

Good to hear the results with the 6" coil..
I have one coming with my order..

Where did you get one from???

Great coil-gets deep enough to find silver for sure. Just can't cover much ground(obviously) I do like idea of an 8" coil

I also only use the 6 inch coil the thing has amazing depth dug 2 barber dimes at 9 inches and one clad at 10 could never pull this off with the exp 2 with 5 inch sunray. It hits hard on a 8 inch dime my ground is loaded with crap and the stock coil has to many signals under it at one time.GET IT THIS COIL IS WORTH IT. sube

First hunt I found 3 rings and a ton of clad. Target separation is incredible and definitely does well for depth. I wouldn't get rid of it and if you get one I'm sure you feel the same.
