CTX 3030 Programs

Hey guys I just bought a CTX 3030 and I'm wanting to know what are some good settings for my type of soil? I live in Kansas and on my xterra 705 the ground balance would read around 20's. I would love to get some information because I have a huge hunt coming up! Going to a old gangs house who robbed 5 banks in the 20's. Last bank they robbed they took 220,000 dollars. I was told your able to go out there and walk the field and find silver dollars laying on top of the soil. I've heard that from two different people. I'm very excited and I want to make sure I know how to use this machine before that day. (might be tonight, tomorrow, or this weekend). I have tried some settings around town and it seems like it's falsing a bunch in the quarter range.
I'm attaching a picture of my two search modes I have for coins.

Also if anyone has a search mode for gold I'd like to see that. Someone told me that there is a gold ring in a mud volleyball pit that they lost last aug. I wanna go find it =]

For that gold ring, open up 10-15 all the way across and it will be yours! (smart money says it'll come in at 12-xx)

(look thru many other posts in this forum re gold. theres a treasure trove of info on the subject, including lots of example of air tests and finds responses)

Don't know about all the settings, but I would open up the top right corner or you will miss some of the silver dollars and some half's too. This corner is also for hot rocks and why it is disc out.
We learned this from some testing we were doing and seem some of the silver dollars didn't give a signal or broken signals. With this top right corner disc out you will miss where there is several silver coins in one spot, we tried this with several quarter stacked as it give broken signals or nothing at all,

Rick

You should do fine ... the ring should be in the vicinity of 12Fe, could have very low Co values (e.g. 03Co, like foil, if it's small or thin)

Silver should be easy to locate ... if iron nails cause falsing (upper-right false hits) you can add a wee bit of Disc in the upper-right corner along 01Fe, you'll still get the silver hit but lessen the falsing.

If the silver is deep, and the ground allows it, try manual sensitivity rather than Auto+3, perhaps after you've cleaned out the area in Auto, look for the deeper signal (manual is quirky and falses, but real hits are different than the weak blips, but it's still noisy to use, but you'll get much deeper than Auto+3 can provide).

Good hunting

I'm like scary brand new to this do you mean to open up all the boxes (from left to right) 10 through 15?

I've been using manual because that's what I've learned on my xterra. I have noticed that it does false a lot and I want to fix that because I'm just itching to just pull out the xterra. I know I need to learn this machine that's why I haven't yet

Yes, that's the simplest way to look for a gold ring. It will probably fall in the lower half of the conductive range, but it is virtually assured that it will be 12-xx.

note that this ONLY for that gold ring in the mudhole. (we can pin it down a bit more if you can describe the ring: mens? womens? stone? size? etc)

Well what I was told it's a men's ring wit a big diamond. Don't even know if its gold I'm just guessing.

If youre not sure of the composition, you should hunt a normal pattern spread. It may very well be silver, titanium, stainless steel......or platinum. Its a small area- dig it all up to be certain since you KNOW theres been a recently lost ring there. (unless its been recovered by someone else, of course)

I live in a very small town my high school had 100 students total. I certainly doubt that anyone has ever detected it. I found dead a spiderman watch and some clad looking for it so far
