CTX 3030 US Coin TID Chart

Attached is a TID chart that a few of us put together for US coins. Please use these numbers as a reference only as your values my differ due to site conditions, depth of target, adjacent targets, angle laying in the ground, sweep speed, detector setting etc. Note that the TID readings for some high CO targets when using High Trash Separation and Low Trash Separation varies from the same targets when using Ground-Coin or Ferrous-Coin Separation. And when scanning silver halves, different detectors and different coins provided totally different results.

Thanks to southernexplorer for TID info on the Type 2 $1.00 gold coin and half dime.
And special thanks to C&RHunter and Gonehunting for their help putting together this chart. HH Randy

Like the way you set it up.. thanks Randy!!

What is the default mode ferrous coin or conductive? Or just conductive coins like the E-trac? Thanks.

I don't remember what is default Harold, but you have to go to Modes menu to select what Target Separation setting you prefer.

Thanks for the post Randy

silver dollars and halves read differently in some of the modes. I wish everything read the same in all modes.

Yeah, but this may be a way to identify good larger coins by quickly checking them.. I have been trying that in my test garden but the large silver and my aluminum lid is freshly burried.. I can tell the difference already the lid doesn't (dollar does) move but again its only been in the ground a few days..

The CTX is my first Minelab. This chart will put me on the fast track...THANK YOU!!!!

Yes but it "sounded" larger.. the one I found, even in the video I said it sounded larger... If you are running alt program like 50 coin and say High/Trash it will hit at the top like normal.. In other words if you normally run in high trash or low trash you can switch over to ferrous coin and it will drop to the 12-41,42... So far every target I have tested doesn't drop cept the Dollar.. Maybe a way to check... not sure how accurate, still testing this theory.. I will post after significant amount of targets are tested.. IF someone else has tested this too and finds trashy signals dropping pleas let us know...

Thanks for posting this information. I just purchased ctx3030 and I am trying to find coins. I have been sucessful finding nichols, older pennies
deep dimes and a 1957 silver quarter. In the past I was using White's xlt. The 3030 uses a completely different set of vid numbers. Your post has helped a lot. I have finally have learned the difference between a bottle cap and a Good target.

Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Carver

Any chance the chart could be put into an Excel file or a Word or Text file. Maybe it is just my old eyes but it is hard to see as a picture. I expand it but you save the picture and want to print it out it is sort of fuzzy.
