CZ 5 recovery speed

Not lightning fast. CZs like a relaxed sweep speed. If you are hunting a very trashy environment the 5 inch coil is ok. I think the 8 inch coil is an excellent coil for the majority of detecting work.

Don't expect it to be lightnng fast but have option of one with small coil.
Cz’s recovery speed is something that doesn’t come into play like more modern detectors. If you focus on short reports that are repeatable, you should find some really good stuff. I like to set the audio below 5 and lower to get modulated audio. Then go after soft high tones for older /deeper targets !!

In discrimination mode, targets hide near iron. When you get accustomed to the sound in all metal and sweep from different directions around a target, a narrower tone from one sweep direction and wider from another sweep angle can indicate non-ferrous masked by ferrous. The only way to know for sure it to dig it up. As Monte would say "Your eyes are the only accurate discriminator" (I hope I got the quote accurate)!
