hello all, i have a cz2d serial number 1021 and was thinking of taking it to the beach, i live on the east coast, besides the salt switch, are there any other setting to optimize this fine detector while detecing near the surf

Basically if you can get away from using the salt mode in the wet sand it will give you more depth and better abilities for gold jewelry especially the small stuff..

Working in wet sand balance in wet sand and vice versa rel the dry sand.

Above all run disc at minimum and dig all as one never knows where that elusive gold ring will come in....

Make sure to ground balance every so often. Don't run the sensitivity too high in discriminate mode. Like Dan stated, run in 0 discriminate mode if using discriminate mode. Sweep slow and low and investigate all targets from different angles prior to digging. You can get some good info hitting targets from different angles, as well as switching over to all metal to listen to the targets 'sound signature'

In the wet sand, targets that bounce from iron to mid tones should be dug as well as the obvious mids and highs. Straight away low iron tones that hit low from all angles are usually iron so don't dig them.
