Showing field from the coil, creating an electrical response from a coin.

Good one Lab. The DD tends to narrow on both ends toward the center the deeper it locates a target. It doesnt graduate as quickly as the concentric but its much like someone stepping on a funnel.

I often wondered what part of the coil is producing a sound when there is junk adjacent to it. I have been trying to refine my " dig or no dig" game and decisions. Any comments? Thanx, mIke

The coil emits eddy currents as in the animation, but it bounces off any metal present, learn to go by the sounds,
presuming you have the detector set for the most sounds, listen for the silver tone, ignore the other,if it peeps,or is iffy with a silver
chirp,or signal, dig, this is a good indication of silver masked by another object, even iron, with nulling present.

You know Harold im not sure that picture of the eddy is corrrect. I might be out to lunch, but normally the outside coil sends the eddy and the center coil is the receiving coil. Thats why when you are in pinpoint the receiver or center coil is activated. Hey, anyone chime in here. It might be different than it was with other detectors i have used.

You might be correct i am not sure,I tried to get some info from minelab, but no response from them!
i will do more research!
Thanks
