Decided to get back into building..................Sailboats

Radio Control ones that is.
Took a break from them in 2009, have the urge to turn piles of sticks and wood into a shapely boat.
Just started on a Footy, only 12" long. And got back into the group I started back then that now has 941 members.

This is an experimental design, not sure how it will sail.

Also would like to get back into building the RG65 class of sailboats, they are about 26" long.
My Puddle Pirate Boatyard portion of my website: http://www.treasurelinx.com/rg65_askook.html

Most of all would love to build a scaled down 30" version of the Santa Barbara, which are a bit big at 7'

Anyone else into R/C Sailboats?

Good luck with your boats Sven. So do they use both motor and sail power, or only motor power?

The sailboats use wind power, cheap power, no mess with liquid fuel, low maintenance. Just pack them up when your finished for the day.
Going to start off with the RG65 Class (26")and the Footy Class (12") sailboats. They are small enough to transport in a compact car.
Just to get into the water faster, purchased a few hulls and decks that were vaccum formed.

If anyone is interested.
Esterel 65H RG65 Sailboat
Experimental hull, think I am actually the first to build one

Some new pix to give you a better idea what it actually looks like after it was pulled from the building board.
And in current form 26" weighs 3oz.
