With high gas prices and the wife had to take the kid to work with our only van...I had to go detecting.

I realized about half way to my usual hunting spot about a mile away that I forgot my small shovel for digging. Just had the small digger to work with.
Life might have been better if I had put more air in the front tire...but I wanted to go detecting...not repair a bicycle.
After spending a few minutes detecting, some character who lives in a nearby house brought his rotweiler out to the field and started yelling. Wasted his breath since I had headphones on and having a Doberman...I was not intimidated by him or his dog.
So for the short time I was out I can't say I found any coins (usually I score some Wheats if nothing else), no rings or other jewelry. Did get some foil and a few pulltabs. Only 'goodies' were these items:

Never been fond of live ammunition. Cases like this make me glad I have the X-1 probe.
OK that was it for the detecting. Trip home was not something I looked forward to as I live on a hill - 100 feet about lake level...no one rides their bikes up this hill. I lucked out. The wife dropped the kid off at work and I was able to load the bike and equipment bag in the van so I could ride up the hill - in the van.
Maybe next time I will score something a little more interesting.
Hope you all got out today.
